When I researched for a dog that was non shedding I ultimately decided on a golden doodle and here is why.  I was tired of the fur/hair on my cloths, furniture, carpet, and floating along the hard floors, not to mention the hand full of hair I got when petting my previous dog (who was a golden retriever).  I have had a Golden and also a retriever. So the question was golden doodle or labra doodle, well labs are hyper and golden’s are more mellow.  That is why a golden doodle was chosen.

What is so wonderful about Golden doodles?  I haven’t met one person who has had one who doesn’t just LOVE them, now I know why.  My “Boomer “ is sooo intelligent, loving, loyal, easy to train, loves everyone especially kids and other dogs, is obedient and has personality plus. You can tell an intelligent/loyal dog because that dog will look at your eyes to know what you want and to be told how they can please you, that’s what golden doodles do. He is bouncy (not hyper), happy and playful.  He really is the best dog we have ever had.

Finally, Alicia and her family do a great job socializing and prepping the puppies for a new home.  She is a wonderful breeder and you would not be disappointed in her puppies or how she conducts herself as a breeder.  The truth is we have called and emailed each other for the last year; me just to let her know how happy we are with him, her because she really does care for her puppies and likes to know they are in good homes and both puppy and owners are content and happy together.

My dog passed away at almost 13 last year, I told everyone not to get me a dog I didn't want one!! Then I started looking in the paper and researching. Shortly thereafter I adopted Buster. He was so lovable!! My daughter was going to be moving and I was worried about Buster being alone so a few weeks after Buster I also got Hank. The best thing I ever did!! They are the best brothers and were so easy to house break and train. They are very gentle with everyone and so much fun to watch playing together. They make friends wherever we go and they go most everywhere with me! I love the non-shedding too! My cats have accepted them and the "boys" have great respect for them. They are my best companions and make me smile every day on our walks.

What led me to pursue this breed was the 'chance' that the hair wouldn't set off my son and my allergies.  Alicia was very supportive of us visiting and exposing ourselves to the puppies to be sure this wouldn't be issue. She wanted this decision to be a win-win for us!  Our allergies have been a non-issue. 

Mars has turned out to be a blessing! Friends and family couldn't believe his temperament was so calm and loving for a puppy.   They'd say, "He is like a rug." because he'd relax when we had visitors.  And, "You got the pick of the litter!" That is humorous because he was the 7th of 9 to be sold!  I say,"he is half human!" He is just a good boy, period!

He is bred to be a family dog, which has made having a dog much easier than I ever expected.  He has never chewed a shoe! Also, never had an 'accident' inside! He is gentle, charming and a wonderful companion.  I run with him and get stopped by people with questions about him.  When he receives compliments on how beautiful he is I kindly attribute it to his Momma, Sophie. 

Since owning him, I have met many like-breed dogs.  All the owners say the same thing, "Best breed ever". You can take them any where and we do - skiing, camping, sledding, soccer games, running errands, etc.  He is patient and loyal!  Not a 'runner' like dogs can be that take off any chance they get.  Compared to some labradoodles, Mars does not have that instinct to protect;  he is social.

My husband was Not totally ready to commit to this purchase... But after a week of having him he understood why we paid what we did. Our family owes Sophie's Doodles a HUGE thank you! Their care from the day he was born to us bringing him home with us made him the amazing dog he is! Thank you!
